The Manoir de Montesquiou, hotel de Charme***
Within a rocky setting in the heart of a site classed "Grand Site des Gorges du Tarn et de la Jonte" (Major Tarn and Jonte Gorges Site) the river has carved a real canyon in the Grands Causses massif. Its sculpted rocks and cliffs give this deep defile its extraordinary beauty. With its limestone landscape the village of La Malène arises from the rock.
A chameleon Hotel – the architecture seems a part of the magnificent scenery of the cliffs nearby that tower above the emerald waters of the Tarn. Built in the 15th and 16th centuries and saved more than once from History’s turmoil, this beautiful residence was transformed in the 1960s into a picturesque hotel de charme ***.
The warmth of the welcome and the quality of the cuisine are guaranteed by the owners, Evelyne and Bernard Guillenet, now helped by the younger generation: their daughters Isabelle and Sylvie at the reception, as well as Michael, Evelyne’s son-in-law, in the kitchen.
In the department of Lozère, in the Languedoc Roussillon Region, where the Parc National des Cévennes meets the Park of the Grands Causses, 40 minutes from the viaduct of Millau, the Manoir de Montesquiou is ideally situated as a base to discover surprising landscapes. Ever helpful and available the Guillenet family will help you discover the secrets of their beautiful region. They know how to give their home a relaxing family atmosphere just right for recuperation and discovery.
For 10 years the hotel has been a member of the Grouping "Demeures de Lozère", which brings together 10 de charme establishments in outstanding historic houses, and has had the label "Auberges et Bistrots de France" (Inns and Bars of France) since 2008.
